Introduction:
Greetings, White River Radio & Communications (WRRC ) community members! Today, I want to take a moment to share with you the incredible success of our recent Meet & Greet event at Jacksonport State Park on Sunday May 21, 2023. This impromptu gathering was organized to honor the dedicated efforts of our Happy Hams Net (HHN) controllers and express our deep appreciation for their tireless work. The event was filled with heartfelt moments, camaraderie, and, of course, plenty of radio activities. So, let’s dive into the details and relive the memorable experience together!
Honoring the HHN Controllers:
As the event unfolded, the highlight of the day was undoubtedly the distribution of the HHN certificates. It was a joyous occasion as our current HHN controllers gathered, eagerly anticipating the surprise that awaited them. Their eyes lit up with delight as they received recognition for their invaluable contributions. Each certificate served as a token of gratitude for their unwavering dedication and relentless efforts.
As a special gesture, I took the initiative to create a personalized certificate for K5NES & NI5C. While Noel was present at the event and received his certificate, unfortunately, Barry couldn’t join us. However, rest assured that we will make every effort to ensure Barry receives his well-deserved certificate at the earliest opportunity.
Acknowledging Chris (N5CRL):
Amidst the certificate distribution, we had the privilege of presenting a unique certificate of appreciation to Chris (N5CRL). This special recognition commemorated the significance of the first HHN log, highlighting Chris’s exemplary dedication and commitment to the HHN community. It was a small token of our gratitude for his remarkable contributions.
The Thriving Atmosphere:
The Meet & Greet event was not just a formal affair; it was an opportunity for all participants to engage in thrilling radio activities and activate the POTA park. The air buzzed with excitement as radios crackled with conversations, and connections were established. Throughout the gathering, we shared wonderful moments of socialization and played radio, forging stronger bonds within our community.
Community Presence:
The event was graced by the presence of numerous remarkable individuals who have continuously supported and contributed to the HHN & WRRC community. Among the attendees were AG5CC, AB5SC, KB9ELS, KI5GRX, KI5QQG, KI5QOS, KI5QQG, KF5TL, KI5EDP, KI5ORQ, KG5LXF and his wife, and Ruger. Each person brought their unique energy and passion for radio communication, making the gathering a resounding success.
