Jamestown Mountain WMA served as the venue for White River Radio & Communications’ inaugural Winter Field Day in 2023. KI5EDP & AG5CC have frequented this location, engaging in multiple POTA activations. Accessible via a well-maintained gravel road, Jamestown Mountain WMA offers easy transportation, typically avoiding muddy conditions due to the diligent maintenance efforts of the Jamestown Craig Climbers.
In addition to its radio activities, this site is renowned as one of the premier rock climbing destinations in Arkansas, providing thrilling experiences for climbers. Nature enthusiasts will also appreciate the abundance of camping spots available in the area. Notably, Jamestown Mountain WMA is conveniently located only 10 minutes away from Southside, Arkansas.
It is worth mentioning that this location is also a popular hunting spot. Visitors should exercise caution and stay aware of open hunting seasons to ensure their safety during their visits.
