We’re thrilled to share that the results of the ARRL Field Day 2023 are now available! You can find the details on the ARRL website, and they’re also featured in the December issue of QST magazine. This year marked a special milestone for the White River Radio & Communications Group as it was our first time joining in on the Field Day fun. Our experience was nothing short of amazing, filled with both seasoned participants and new faces.

A special shoutout is due to David Norris (K5UZ). His outstanding performance with 1156 CW QSOs played a crucial role in propelling our group to the top score in Arkansas – a fantastic achievement for our debut! Operating under the callsign K5UZ, and with our GOTA station AG5CC in action, we really made our mark.
Though we always remember that ARRL Field Day is about operating skills and not a contest, it’s exciting to see how we stacked up:
- Overall, among 4,445 total entries, K5UZ (+AG5CC) ranked #53.
- In the Arkansas Section, out of 32 entries, K5UZ (+AG5CC) took the #1 spot.
- For Class 3A entries nationwide, K5UZ (+AG5CC) was #16 out of 331.
- And in the AR Section for Class 3A, we were #1 out of 4 entries.

Our first Field Day was a resounding success, and it’s already decided – we’re doing it again in 2024 at the same location, the KB9ELS & KI5GRX homestead. Let’s gear up for another fantastic event!
